Phase 2

Phase 2 is here!  If you delayed paying your meet up fees, you'll definitely want to make your hotel reservation and get your fees in before March 15, when they  go up again.

If you signed up to participate in the payment plan, we will be sending a courtesy invoice via PayPal the day before the 1st of the month, but please don't forget your payment (of $25) is due on Feb 1, March 1, and April 1. If you miss a payment, we will spank you in public at the meet up! No, actually, if you miss a payment, the ENTIRE balance of your fees will become due immediately. So don't miss a payment, okay?

Also, to clarify something about the hotel rooms -- the price per night is based on double occupancy. If you plan to have more than 2 people in your room (there's a pullout couch, so in theory, you could fit 5/6 people into a room with 2 double beds, js!), it is in your best interest to ONLY list 2 names. If you list all occupants, well, you'll pay an additional fee tacked on by the hotel. Please know this is what the hotel advised us to tell you.

We're hoping to release a few more author names for the Author's Studio on Friday in the coming days, so keep your eyes peeled, and feel free to respond to this post with your favorite actively-writing-fanfic author's name. Who would get YOU to come hang out in Chicago for a few days? We'd love to know.

172

172? You're probably wondering what that number is doing there... Is it my weight? Hah. Not since college. Is it the number of times I've Googled something inappropriate at work? Try quadrupling that and multiplying by seven.

That number - 172 - is the number of days until THE TWIFIC MEET UP CHICAGO 2013 COMMENCES!

Those are all the days you have left to prepare yourself to PAR-TAY with your favorite authors, readers and TwiFic H00rs alike! That's not a lot of time, people!

Now - there may be triple digit days until the Meet Up but there are only 8 (EIGHT!) days until the next fee increase goes into effect. Right now, your meet up fee is $125. As of January 15th that rate will increase to $150. SO GET MOVING.

We have so many great things planned for your this year, including, but not limited to:

  • Inside the Author's Studio: If you're not familiar with the tv show Inside the Actor's Studio, check it out here. Just replace James Lipton with Kassiah of The Fictionators and Johnny Depp with Savage7289 and VOILA! EPICNESS. Yep, you read that right -- Savage7289 is a participating author!
  • As well, The Handmade Marketplace which will take place during the Official Reception on Friday evening, June 28th is sure to be a crowd-pleaser! Attendees will be treated to an array of vendors specializing in (Twilight and non-Twilight themed) handmade knitted goods, art, home decor, clothing, accessories and much more! All items will be for sale by individual vendors who were invited by TFMU.
  • Want to have a piece of the Meet Up to keep with you forever? Well, you're in luck! This year's Meet Up will include a Photo Booth at the Official Reception. Take a photo with your friends, favorite author(s), or your super amazing TFMU staff! *hint hint* You'll have props, silly hats, and you'll get to take the photo with you the same day!

We have our sights set on an amazing few days with you in June 2013 and we want everyone to be there to experience it.

A few things to remember:

  1. Book your hotel room NOW. Space is LIMITED. There is no money required to make your reservation and you have 48 hours before the check-in date to cancel.
  2. Think the hotel cost is too much to handle on your own? ITS OK! We are ready and waiting to make you a roommate match! Split the cost of each night with 3 other people and its SUPER CHEAP!
