My name is Karen but I answer to Kare more often than
not. I’m a writer/reader and I’ve
been in the fandom since 2010. I
live in Southern California and I’m mother to a wonderful five-year-old
daughter. I’m a hairstylist by
trade and I’m an avid scrapbooker.
If it’s not in the scrapbook, it didn’t happen. ;)
When I’m not writing, reading or scrapping, I like music and
movies and I try to get to as many SoCal TFMU’s as possible. I’ve met some pretty fantastic women in
this fandom and I’m so happy to call quite a few of them my friends. I love getting together with them to
chat about fic.
Wide Awake was the first fanfic I read. I was blogging on an Eclipse movie
website and someone mentioned WA and I had no idea what it was. People kept mentioning sparkly white
unicorns, mythical creatures and cookies. I wanted to know what I was missing out on. So I finally Googled it and a few
hundred stories later – here I am.
As I mentioned, I’m a writer and a reader. I’m author of When You Least Expect It
and co-author of What Fills the Eye Fills the Heart, Taking a Shot, In High
Gear and a ton of others. I’m
pretty particular about what I read – I’m an Edward/Bella kinda girl and I love
a good HEA. I do like a little
angst every now and then just to shake things up, but I do like a fluffy, sweet
Edward.
I went to Las Vegas for last year’s meet-up and it was so
much fun! Not only did I get to
fangirl over some of my favorite writers but I got to meet some of my wonderful
readers too and that’s what I’m looking forward to doing again in Chicago. (Be
warned there may be some squeeing involved.) I’ve only ever been to the airports in Chicago, so it will
be interesting to see a little bit of the city. I know the Cubs aren’t playing at home the weekend we’re
there, but I’d REALLY like to go see Wrigley Field and I NEED to find a pub and
have a Guinness with my co-writer,
twimom817! =D
June can’t get here soon enough, I’m looking forward to
seeing y’all!
